Fusing Problems
Fusing
can be simply explained as the systematic process of bonding of fabric pieces.
To launch bonding process adhesives are commonly used. Adhesives are synthetic
thermoplastic resins. When two fabrics are joining together with adhesives must
be proper controlled heat, pressure and time. If have any of the condition unbalance
following fusing problems can be seen. If these factors were not applied
successfully so then may be occurred following fusing problems.
·
Strike back
In this problem we can see penetration
of resin through the interlining substrate.
·
Strike through
In this problem can be seen penetration of resin to
the face shell fabric. To eliminate strike through and strike back problems
must be proper control heat, pressure ad dwell time.
·
Differential shrinkage
In this problem can be seen puckering or raveling
surface of shell fabric. To reduce this problem both layers must be taken same
material.
·
Delamination
Can be seen bubbled appearance of shell fabric. To
eliminate this problem launch proper under fusing and over fusing , correct
cooling time and use compatibility of resin and the shell fabric.
·
Colour change
According to higher temperature colour patches can
be seen. To eliminate this problem operator must proper control heat levels for
different fabrics.
·
Bubbling
Bubbled and puckered area on the face fabric can be
seen. To eliminate this problem also launch proper under fusing and over fusing
, correct cooling time and use compatibility of resin and the shell fabric.
·
Boardiness
Too much resins and irregular resin placement will
be occurred boardiness. To eliminate boardiness operator must apply proper
amount of adhesives before start fusing operation.
Apart
above physical factors, operator skills also directly affect to control fusing
problems.
