Computerized Cutting Vs Manual Cutting

We all know that well the main function of cutting room is cutting operation of fabric rolls or fabric pieces. And also production efficiency and proper quality control also essential part of each work process of cutting room. In the textile industry manual cutting and computerized cutting processes are done. Above two methods have advantages as well as disadvantages. In this post I hope to discuss that advantages and disadvantages separately.

Computerized Cutting Process

In computerized cutting method the most operations done by computerized cutting system. To launch this operation IT skill operator is needed. But need not several operators hence, company can save labour cost. Nevertheless division of labour is an essential to control this cutting operation. This method is very much effective one because accuracy will high so quality of work will high so failure cost s very low. Using this method we can easily cut large amount of fabric pieces. Therefore computer controlled cutting system is most suitable for large production and not suitable for small quantity of order. As an another advantage of computer control cutting method we can see any function can be proper controlled such as cutting speed etc. Not only that there are low accidents when operation process. However machines maintain cost is high and there is large place is needed to store this system. Although this method is modern the cutting process can not be reached 100% efficiency because need to eliminate fabric faults during cutting.

Manual Cutting Process

This method is considered as conventional cutting process. To achieve this cutting process can be used following cutting equipments.

# Hand Shears (For single or double plies)
# Electric Shears (For Small/Several Plies)
# Straight Knife Cutting Machine
# Rotor Blade Cutting Machine
# Die cutting Machine
# Band knives
# Water Jet Cutting Machine (For single or double plies)
# Plasma Torch Cutting Machine (For single or double plies)
# Laser beam cutting Machine (For single or double plies)

Manual cutting process is very suitable for small quantity orders. And It has more disadvantages such as less effective, quality is low, slow operation process, not suitable for large scale, cutting speed depend of skills of cutting operator. Accidents are high hence personal protective equipments are compulsory to wear when cutting operation. In the manual cutting there is essential to use any marker before cutting process. And also several workers are needed to perform cutting operation so company has to spend additional labour cost. Not only that this method quality is lower than computerized cutting method hence cutting failure cost will be increased.
