Objectives

Here we hope to measure tensile strength of each fabric. So we can get results for tensile strength.

Equipments and materials

·         Tensile strength tester

·         Warp faced fabric samples and weft faced fabric samples (Size 100 * 25mm)

Principle

In this practical we hope to launch ravelled strip method. Therefore we must proper arrange each fabric samples for test. Fabric stripes get and cut little wider than the specific width. After, warp yarns are removed until meet exact width. In the next step can be used these prepared samples.

Theory and procedure

·         First, make average sample fabric according to the required standard. It means measurement 100 * 25mm.

·         Next, mark allowances as 0.5 and remove warp yarns from allowance.

·         Next, fabric sample must be adjusted with the machine (Tensile Strength Tester). And we must arrange two fabric edges to the jaw area of machine.

·         Switch on machine/ tensile tester

·         When it processing, reach to breaking force/strength and machine will automatically stop.

·         Breaking strength/ elongation and other details can be recorded using computer display.

·         Finally we can distribute record data and we must launch this practical test to each fabric samples and must be taken all those data. And also must be calculated averaged each strength values.
