Definition of pattern
Pattern can be explained as a piece which is represent size and shape of the paper and helps to cut large number of required fabric pieces by aiding this piece. In the textile and clothing industry patterns are used to cut large number of fabric pieces. The main advantage of pattern is the correct duplicate fabric pieces can be taken hence, all outputs have same dimensions and same appearance. When we consider pattern making methods we met two methods and they are,
1. Pattern drafting
2. Pattern manipulation
In the pattern drafting pattern maker needed body measurements, production sketch of garment, etc. And pattern manipulation process used existing pattern and it is developed. Pattern making process designer use different types of equipment and they are,
* Rulers
* Pen or Pencil
* Tailor Chalk
* French Curves
* Papers
* Nochehs
* Hole drills
* Scissors

Advantages
* Accuracy of fabric pieces will high.
* Different copies can be taken in same appearance.
* After cutting measurements of fabrics can be compare with pattern.
